Strength to Strength Sisters welcomed Marlene Nisly to share about the blessings and challenges of living in a population center like New York City.
Having grown up in rural Pennsylvania and now living in Brooklyn, NY, for nearly twenty-five years, Marlene will talk about the call and the challenge to live well as followers of Jesus, with specific focus on an urban setting.

Marlene is married to Dwight Nisly, and God has blessed their home with three wonderful children, ages 22, 21, and 18. They have lived in Brooklyn, NY all their married life.
Dwight and Marlene find joy in serving their community and church by investing in Followers of Jesus School. There, Dwight serves as classroom teacher and principal, and Marlene volunteers on a regular basis. Teaching has been an important part of Marlene’s life as she taught school for thirteen years before marriage and homeschooled their children for fifteen years.
The family attends Followers of Jesus Mennonite Church, where Marlene supports her husband in his role as deacon. Her deep desire is to follow the Scripture in Micah 6:8: “He has showed you, oh man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God.”
