This is the first part of a two-part S2S Event called “Overcoming Sexual Addiction” held on November 19, 2022.
Also, see part 2: “Sexual Addiction? Get Help for Yourself!” by Arthur Nisly.
Strength to Strength welcomed Arthur Nisly to speak on the problem of sexual addiction among conservative Anabaptists.
In Part 1, he speaks to church leaders and those who want to help sexual strugglers, but don’t know how. He gives suggestions about how churches can make it safe to give help and to deal redemptively with those who come forward.
An interactive question-and-answer period will follow.
Resource: Worksheet for Part 1.
Arthur Nisly served in El Salvador under Amish Mennonite Aid for 30 years as a pastor and missionary. Since 2016 he and his wife, Lil again live in Kansas. They have been life-long members of Center Amish Mennonite Church.
In 2017 Arthur sensed an ‘almost audible’ call from the Lord to learn how to help men who are trapped in addictions. He invested thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours learning from the best faith-based people helpers.
Starting in 2019 he begin to mentor men via Zoom part-time for a fee. Since then helping men break free from sexual addiction has become his full-time ministry, called Hope Journey Guide. He is also training other men to do what he does in their local churches.
He loves what he is doing and his dream is to help facilitate gifted, trained men in every Conservative Anabaptist church who eagerly help those who come to them without gasping or gossiping because it is safe to do so!
